Des Moines Register
The Des Moines Register has mirrored and reflected the growth of the city that has shared its name. At the same time, they're connecting the lives of Iowans with timely, truthful and clear news coverage that not only informs, educates and entertains, but also enriches the community. It is definitely the State's biggest publication, and most widely read. Their site nails it, with lots of information, good template, and easy of navigation (great footer, too).

Harlan Online
THE HARLAN NEWSPAPERS has a history dating back to 1870, making it one of Harlan's oldest operating businesses and one of Iowa's oldest publications. It is definitely in need to a redesign, though.

Iowa's thrid biggest news publication, and third best Iowa resource online, the Iowa City Press Citizen is a great resource for Hawkeye fans around Iowa. The site appears to be controlled by the same company that controls the DM Register.

Lemars Sentinel
A pretty good site all around, and a great online resource for anyone around the Le Mars area. Fairly impressed, as the site is a lot better than some of the bigger publications in circulation.

Not sure how this has a PR 5, because its a frame based site that is awful to look at and doesn't have any good content at all.

Another Lee Enterprises site, so its no wonder this is a pretty good online resouce. This site is a good mesh of information and links.

The Newton Daily News is a daily newspaper (Monday through Friday) which serves Jasper County and the surrounding regions of central Iowa. The Newton Daily News was established in 1902 and is part of Shaw Newspapers, Dixon IL

Very similar to other Iowa publication sites, but full of good information. Ottumwa's longest running business, the first Courier was printed Aug. 8, 1848. It started out as a weekly newspaper - one of the first west of the Mississippi river.
