[Editors Note: Pixley may be drunk. No edits have been made] I'm not even gonna say I hate to tell you I told you so. How bout those Hawkeyes!!! I am so excited I can hardly see straight. I just witnessed what many will say is the biggest upset of the year in college football. I respectfully disagree. True fans know the Hawkeyes had it in em'. We are a great football team that has, until today, just not quite been able to close out the game. These youngsters are still learning how to win. Today they figured it out.
Despite what I feel was horrible playcalling the first half by Ken O'Keefe (throwing the ball repeatedly on 3rd and short???), Shonn Greene broke 100 yds again today for the tenth straight week with 28 carries for 117 yds. The Hawkeye secondary picked off their 17th pass of the season and even Ricky Stanzi made good decisions most of the game. I thought our defense got knocked around a bit up front but that was to be expected to a certain extent. Even so, I am going to give my game ball to the entire defensive unit for coming up big when it mattered most. Today we saw some gutsy football. This win has more implications than just the ESPN highlight reel too. A win over Minnesota (see you there?) and we may well be playing in the Outback Bowl! Big time, baby.
So for today I'm not gonna throw any more stats or opinions at you. I've got a Widespread Panic show in an hour and a half to complete what may well turn out to be the greatest Saturday ever. So all you Hawkeyes fans just sit back and bask in the glory of a phenomenal win. Or get drunk, be loud, run in the streets (I've done all of the above), or whatever else feels like the right thing to do. Enjoy this day fellow Hawkeys. And remember, your heart and soul are never too far away to be at the game. Go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Google Shonn Greene. A Heisman picture comes up. Coincidence?
