Iowa woman loses job after bathroom sex arrest, says scandal “ruined my life” - We mentioned this before, but more is coming out on this story. Apparently, Lois Feldman got a little too drunk last weekend during Iowa's extreme dismantling of the Minnesota Gophers. Feldman, who describes herself as a light drinker, claims she’d had a little too much wine before game time. So much so that she doesn’t remember walking into the restroom, the man she had sex with in a stall, or when the police opened the door. At first glance, the story sounds horrible and almost rape-like. This lady is stumbling around, a 26 year old guy (Ross Walsh) takes her into a bathroom, and bam...you have another scene from The Accused. Now she has lost her job because of all the publicity. I am not sure what to make of this story, so before I start bashing this woman I am going to see if anything more comes of this. I am curious about this one.
Mountaineers beat Iowa 85-68 in Vegas basketball tournament - It was only inevitable we would lose one soon. Last night was that soon. The Hawkeyes suffered from a turnover problem, and lost to West Virginia last night in Vegas. And it doesn't surprise me...this is a young team and its probably many of the players' first time being in Vegas. Too many distractions for a 19 year old. Hell, too many distractions for the pope!
Who the hell knows where we are going. At this point, its anyone's guess. Today's games will definitely have a lot of baring on where Iowa goes, but until the games are played, we can still speculate right?
Douchenberg (his new nickname until he decides to apologize for saying our Hawkeyes haven't done anything notable) over at ESPN says Iowa wants Oregon to beat Oregon State to open up possible Outback Bowl spot. If Oregon wins, the Big Ten gets two BCS bids most likely. Most of the time, Adam knows his stuff, but he doesn't claim to know who we would be playing yet. But, another ESPN bowl predictor Bruce Feldman currently has the Hawkeyes heading to the Champ Sports Bowl to take on Virginia Tech. Yet another ESPN analyst, Mark Schlabach, has the Hawkeyes going to the Insight Bowl to play Nebraska in Tempe, Arizona or Champ Sports against Georgia Tech.
CBS Sportsline is predicting Iowa in the Champs Sports bowl, playing Miami. Jon Miller over at Hawkeye Nation thinks we are for sure going to the Outback, but if not then definitely the Alamo. Collegefootballnews.com has Iowa vs. Nebraska in the Alamo. That would be a good game, Iowa vs Nebraska. I think they matchup well against each other, both defensively and offensively, and both teams travel well. Both teams also value sportsmanship, so a friendly rivalry it would be.

On behalf of all three of us here at IowaHawkeyes.net, we would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. We are thankful the site has found a lot of people through search engines and via our pilot group of friends. We plan to improve upon that with the official launch and the new year, but we are thankful the site is being received well so far. We are also thankful that the football team seems to be moving past the scandal and player arrests (despite Ferentz's son). We were given a blessing in disguise this year with Shonn Greene, who has rewritten the running back record book at Iowa this year. Aside from football, it appears the basketball team is moving out of the Curse of the Douche, so we are thankful for the optimism in our basketball program that we have again. And let's not forget our thanks to securing Tom Brands as coach of our wrestling program. Its Dan Gable 2.0, and the Hawkeye Nation loves it. Tom Brands has always been a true Iowa Hawkeye, and its good to know he will be around for some time to come.

This week's picture was sent to us @iowahawkeyes on Twitter. @SamSchroeder sent a pic via Twitpic called:Gopher Fans hang it up. It shows a near empty Metrodome, with only Hawkeye Fans left.
The focus lately on the Iowa Hawkeye Blog has been the football team. It was a roller coaster of a year, and there has been lots to discuss. But our beloved basketball team seems to be off to a good start, so we wanted to give attention to them and discuss before anyone gets butt hurt.
It seems Iowa coach Todd Lickliter has the team on track this year, with the Hawkeyes winning last night to go 5-0 on the season. Behind the power play of Anthony Tucker an dthe freshman sensation Matt Gatens, Iowa beat Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday night in a 75-41 win. With contributions from seven different players, the Hawkeyes outscored the Redhawks 39-0 from 3-point range. WOW.

Well, it looks like a couple of Hawkeyes felt a little too liberated by Saturday's huge blowout over the Gophers. While Shonn Greene was breaking records on the field, a 38-year-old cougar and a 26-year-old dude, both from Iowa, turned to a handicapped stall Saturday night to celebrate the win, Ron Jeremy style.
When a crowd of intoxicated fans gathered to cheer the off-the-field event, the cops were called. But you haven't even heard the best part yet: "She was released to her husband and the man was released to his girlfriend."

First of all I would like to apologize for this blog not getting out until Monday. My post game celebrations got a little out of hand and my better half and I spent all of Sunday nursing the mother of all hangovers. It's just not every day that our beloved Hawkeyes display such total domination! Saturday was surely a great way to end a pretty damned good regular season. Four tough losses by a total of 12 points but a historic win over then seated #3 Penn State. Our team and our fans have much to be proud of this year.
With only one punt (1st possession) until the second team mercifully took the field in the fourth quarter and a crushing defensive unit that allowed no points and only 134 offensive yards, including -7 yards on the ground, it was the most lopsided Big Ten victory in Hawkeyes history, with a score of 55-0. I really can't say enough about how well the Defense played Saturday, so I'll just move on.
I predict the Hawkeyes will go to the Outback Bowl in Tampa, FL.

This is assuming Oregon State beats Oregon on Saturday. If Oregon could find a way to beat the Beavers then Ohio State will go to the BCS, thus opening the path to the Outback Bowl for Iowa. I believe the Capital One Bowl will take either Michigan State or Northwestern. The Outback Bowl will be a great bowl for Iowa to make playing either LSU or South Carolina. Congrats to Kirk and the team on a great year!!

Vilsack ends ag secretary speculation - Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack on Sunday said that he won't be the next agriculture secretary. "In an e-mail, Vilsack said he had never been contacted by aides to President-elect Barack Obama about that position or any other." So, someone somewhere made up a story that Vilsack was up for a position when in fact he was never up for the position. And that makes news why?
Iowa DNR takes $10 million hit - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reported $10 million in losses after the year’s tornadoes and historical flooding. Compound that by $800,000 in lost fees for fishing and hunting licenses. The hunters won't be happy about the increase in licensing fees, that's for sure.

Dear Adam,
First, I wanted to take the opportunity to compliment you on your coverage of Ohio State vs Michigan. Despite the smashing OSU delivered, you managed to keep your posts entertaining and objective. If only you could do that for my Iowa Hawkeyes.
If you remember, I wrote a post were I explained my understanding of your right to an opinion, but pointed out how retarded you were for thinking that Iowa, as a team, as "done nothing significant" and thus was your reasoning for predicting an upset by the Gophers.
You didn't stop there, Mr. Ritternberg. Then, in response to an email from what is clearly an older man in his 70s, you decide to add insult to injury by saying about Shonn Greene, "He plays for a four-loss team. If he doesn't get to New York for the Heisman ceremony, blame a team that couldn't close out games."
