PRLog (Press Release) – IowaHawkeyes.Net is pleased to announce the launch of the beta version of its new website. IowaHawkeyes.Net was created to give Hawkeye fans and Iowa natives a chance to stay informed about their beloved Hawks. It gives Iowans a chance to speak their minds about any and all things Iowa.
The Iowa @ Illinois game will be televised nationally on ABC and ESPN. If you live within the upper midwest you should be able to view the game on your local ABC affiliate. Outside of the upper midwest the game can be viewed on ESPN. The games will also be available in HD. Every week we will update the TV listings for your viewing pleasure. If you know of a particular bar in a location outside of Iowa please feel free to email us at contact@iowahawkeyes.net and we'll compile a list and post it every week with the TV listings.

- The Bleacher Report is a great place, in general, for any and all
sports info. But their Iowa section is a good place to go for in-depth
interviews, predictions, news, etc. We will reference this site alot
in our postings.

- Adam Rittenberg keeps up one of the greatest sports blogs out there.
The best part is, its ALL BIG TEN. It is a great place to read up on
everything in the Big Ten. He is objective, and provides sweet player
interviews. Maybe Adam will link to us someday.

Looks like Shonn’s Heisman candidacy is starting tlo pick up some steam. ESPN has him listed as a Heisman candidate on Nissan’s 2008 Heisman Voting Special. I of course urge you to vote for Shonn Greene, early and often. He can use all the help we can give him. Let’s just hope he keeps running up a storm. Shonn has averaged over 144 yards per game a game so far this year.
Here is the Heisman voting: http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/theheismanvote/index

For the 2 of you that have discovered the site, I thought I would update you on the status of things.
Posts will be few and far between until we get the site ready. We (my buddy Nate and I) need to focus on getting the site in a full beta, so that we can have a select group of friends testings things. As such, we won't be posting much for the next few weeks. Our hopes is to have the site in Beta before the Wisconsin game. Actually, we had hoped to have the site ready before the Iowa State game...major FAIL on our part.
Finally...the Hawkeyes are back on track! They went into the Hoosier State, home of the biggest douche bag on the planet (Steve Alford for those of you who this wasn't obvious to), and we smashed Indiana in every aspect of the game. My only regret is not being able to watch this game in a crowded bar full of Hawkeye fans.
Been kinda busy this week, so sorry for the lack of posts. Going forward, the posts might be a bit lacking until we can get the beta site up and running. But, the Waterloo Courier has a good article on the stud known as AJ Edds.
As one of three Indiana natives on Iowa’s football roster, linebacker
A.J. Edds has been a popular figure in the Hoosier state this week.
For
friends and family who haven’t seen Edds, they are excited the
Greenwood, Ind., native is coming back home to face Indiana at Memorial
Stadium Saturday. Of course, many of those same friends and family have
been wondering if Edds can get them a ticket to the game. “I’m
working on it,” Edds laughed. “A lot of guys don’t have family
traveling to Indiana, so I’m trying to snatch those (tickets) up.

Sometimes its hard being a Hawkeye. Yesterday's game again Michigan State proved that. Its almost like we try to turn it over. We drive down the field, look like we are gonna score....turnover. Stanzi is young, and going through a learning phase. That's all fine and dandy, but it doesn't change the consistently HORRIBLE and PREDICTIBLE play calling by O'Queef (I can see a recurring post on how bad KOK sucks...be on the look out).
It wasn't all horrible. The D looked good, and kept Ringer to under a 100 yards. Minus a 30+ yard run late in the game, we wouldn't have even ahd the 91 yards he finished with. Our D...more important the D line...gives me hope still, even after 3 straight losses.

If you haven't run across it before, Adam Rittenberg has been writing on a Big Ten Blog over at ESPN. Adam seems to be a fairly objective writer and covers anything and everything Big Ten related. I have a feeling we will be be referencing his blog a lot here on the Iowa Hawkeyes Blog. This week, he writes about the plethora of talent at Running Back in the big ten and highlights the matchup this weekend between our beloved Shonn Greene and Michigan State's Heisman hopeful Javon Ringer.
